Just a short walk from Gloppen Hotel, you will find Nordfjord Folk Museum. Here, you come close to the people who lived here before us – in the old homes, around the farmyard, through work, faith, hardship and dreams.

Near the centre of Sandane, the impressive Holvikejekta awaits. This mighty cargo vessel once carried vital goods along fjords and coastal routes. She was built in the Nordic clinker boat tradition, recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage.

Two different museum experiences. One journey into life on land – and one out towards the fjord. Afterwards, you may see Sandane, the fjord and its history with new eyes.
